Supporting Flood Drainage and River Management

The pumps are for the Taishan section of Phase I of an integrated tributary management project in the Xijiang and Tanjiang river basins. The project includes improvements to the Gongyi, Xinchang and Baisha waterways, together with new combined sluice and pumping facilities.

Its objectives include flood drainage, prevention of tidal backflow, water regulation and improved river ecology. The wider project is intended to help protect nearly 90,000 residents and surrounding farmland from flooding.

QGWZ Pumps for Tidal River Applications

The supplied pumps use Ganquan’s patented wet-stator design and a flow-through water passage. Ganquan describes the units as compact, low-noise and suited to submerged operation in tidal river reaches. The application calls for high-volume flood drainage during the flood season and routine river water circulation and regulation.

Joint Factory Acceptance

Representatives of the project owner, designer, supervision consultant and construction contractor reviewed the manufacturing records and raw material inspection reports. Full-scale pump tests covered flow rate, head, motor temperature rise, insulation performance and operating stability.

According to the original report, all four units met the design requirements, and their manufacturing quality was accepted for the project.
